The long awaited heart of east Greenwich development is off to a flying start. After years of waiting the first two floors of the first phase off the project can be seen starting to peer over the building site walls. Meanwhile from the air you can clearly see the different sections mapped out. The project is set to be developed in stages. This will be part of the first phase were we will eventually see 645 homes, a leisure centre, library, council service centre, health centre, retail spaces and a new public square. Since we launched this site Greenwichrising.com we have been covering the news of new transport links or new apartments as they come along. This means theres is a backlog of things we want to write about that has already happened and is ongoing. Why don’t we focus on new rather than ongoing projects as well, simply because we want you to be able to see all that is going on, thats why we have a map section and a featured projects menu. Things like the Kidbrooke estate, we have yet to write about since we launched, another is the heart of greenwich development – which we will talk about now.
